Models of Human Inteligence
From The Chapterhouse Codex
Introduction
Human beings over time have developed different models of thinking, which has influnced their culture and capabilities. There are several factors which predicate a model of human intelligence. They are:
- Language
- Communications
- Access to Information
- Mathematical Training
- Religion and Culture
Language of the Mind
Language affects human intelligence in the most dramatic way. In early childhood development most humans develop subvocalization, or speaking to one's self internally. This causes additional steps to be entered into the normal routine of thinking. (See diagram to the right) Each concept is translated into language before it is subvocalized, requiring a vocabulary capable of translating every concept in the mind. While learning, it introduces new language into the mind as a reference to the speakers introduction of new concepts.
Unfortunately, no language is capable of holding a stable objective reference to any concept. Over time, words and accepted meanings of words change. This causes problems with the later aquisition of knowledge. Since as the reader is translating another mind's references to concepts with the pre-existing references he has developed.
